The 45 Worst Fox News Moments of 2011 | Buzzfeed →
lulz
The fact that Fox News is one of the biggest cable news networks in this country makes me deeply sad.
Gotta say, this made me want to bawl and puke simultaneously. #29, people.
First of all: holy shit (and I am not a pottymouth). The Muppets are fantastic and show kids some of the beauty of a lifestyle that’s not only hardworking but adventurous and free-spirited and appreciative of the green. The man (in the video in #29) says that the Muppets are brainwashing American youth by putting environmentalism into their recent movie: “The only thing green on that screen should be Kermit the Frog,” Mr. Hotshot Rep Whoever tells us. ENVIRONMENTALISM IS NOT A POLITICAL ISSUE. IT IS A GLOBAL CONCERN THAT WILL INDEFINITELY BECOME THE MAJOR FOCUS OF THIS PLANET’S RESIDENTS AS SOON AS ALL OF THE NUMBSKULL AMERICAN POLITICIANS SHUT UP ABOUT IT BEING “TOO LIBERAL” TO TELL KIDS ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING AND THAT THE OIL INDUSTRY DOES BAD STUFF.
I just hate people. I found it kind of funny how the professor (the blonde woman at the end) had to talkreallyfast in order to get anything she said heard because the other two kept cutting her off whenever she said something not to their liking. And the comment about Barney Frank made me want to saw that lady’s head off of her body. Barney Frank is a respected, dignified man with an excellent track record in-office because he did his job very well. So the fact that the cohosts keep dredging up the way liberal parents always shoot down the rich guy instead of how capitalist parents reinforce hard work makes it so deliciously ironic to see them tossing pathetic insults at intelligent people.
But the most nauseating part for me is how these “adults” are so overprotective of the next generation. Keeping your kids safe is one thing; keeping them underexposed can be as lethal as letting them run with scissors. Why do they think teenagers are so rebellious? Human beings are not meant to live in cages, especially when our jailors sit dangling the keys under our noses. Parents need to tell kids what’s going on in the world, because kids can make an enormous difference.
All in all, while this link is hilarious, it shows how far we have yet to go as a nation and as a population. What happened to “We the people”? What happened to our surplus of freedoms and civil responsibility and hospitality between neighbors and the brotherhood of man? The political turmoil needs to end. The wars need to end. Our obsession with the petty day-to-day activity of celebrities needs to be hacked away once and for all. If you really believe that more elections in a conflicted, twisted, confusing democracy can fix all of that, go ahead and keep voting. But if there’s any country in the world that needs a revolution, it’s the good old US of A.
